There are two school boards serving the Parry Sound Area Development Community. The Parry Sound Roman Catholic School Board offers elementary school students the option for schooling rooted in Roman Catholic beliefs and values. The Near North District School Board oversees the community's multiple public elementary schools as well as Parry Sound District High School.

The community is home to the internationally recognized Rosseau Lake College reputed for excellence and innovation. The co-ed boarding and day school provides high quality academic programming for grades 7 to 12. Academic components are integrated with a unique and diverse co-curricular program to create a holistic learning experience.
The community also hosts the New Horizon Montessori Early Learning Center and the Otter Lake Christian Elementary School.
Canadore College Parry Sound Campus offers independent study, video conferencing and on-campus classes within the community. Course offerings include various full and part time certificate programs, including the Critical Care Nursing Certificate program offered in partnership with the area hospital. The college also provides training and advancement opportunities through professional and personal development seminars, workshops and classes.
The numerous post secondary institutes located within an approximate 2 hour radius of the community provide additional opportunities for training and recruitment.
