Q: Do I require Business Licence? If so, how do I get one?

The Parry Sound Area Development Community has identified the objectives of business licencing as follows:
i.    Simplify the process as much as possible
ii.   Have as few categories as possible
iii.  React to the market based on need and circumstance.

Due to the difference between the market places in the three municipalities, these objectives are best served by individual business licencing requirements. Available below, in PDF format are the business licencing requirements and processes for the Municipality of McDougall and the Town of Parry Sound. Seguin Township does not have business licensing.

Q: I would like to start a Home Based Business. What should I do?

Allowing new businesses to start at home and to grow into successful operations is part of the Parry Sound Area Development Community’s economic development strategy. As such, all three Municipalities in the Parry Sound Area Development Community allow dwelling occupants to conduct a business from their home. Q: How do I get an Entrance Permit?

With limited exceptions, the construction of all new entrances onto municipal roads and/or property requires an entrance permit. Some entrance modifications and/or improvements also require entrance permits.
