With 82% of Parry Sound District residents commuting to work, the community’s labour force potential reaches far beyond a 15 minute catchment area. Fluctuating unemployment rates ensure accessibility to the community’s highly skilled labour force. The portion of the community’s labour force with apprenticeship and college certifications is 4% and 11% higher, respectively, than Ontario’s. Nearby Huntsville and Bracebridge centers offer additional sources of university educated labour. The Parry Sound Area Development Community offers competitive labour costs, with the median earnings running approximately 75% of the median for Ontario.
