Major Projects

REDAC initiates projects on an ongoing basis as the opportunity and resources arise. The following are REDAC's current projects and goals. Some are nearing completion though most are ongoing initiatives that require continuous monitoring, updating and revision to ensure long term sustainability.

2010 Subcommittees

1.Community Development Subcommittee

Ojective: Facilitate the development of a viable, skilled, diverse workforce in the Parry Sound Development Community as well as monitor housing issues.

2.Technology Subcommittee
Chair: Andrew Ryeland
Members: Garfield Eaton, Ian Holmes, Iain Laing, Chris Mahon, Andrew Ryeland, Bill Spinney, Dave Thompson

Objective: Address and support future technological needs of the community.

3. Emerging Concept Development Subcommittee
Chair: Circulates
Members: Garfield Eaton, Iain Laing, Rob Mens, Lynn Middaugh, Andrew Ryeland, Keith Saulnier, Paul Scholfield, Sheena Sharp, Tom Stockie, Leah Welk

Objective: Explore trends and define short and long term priorities to discover emerging issues and act as a funnel for new ideas.

2007/2008 Priority Projects


Communication Plan:

Goal: Create and implement a plan for continuously informing, involving and advising the community on REDAC's mission and projects.

Construction/ Education Center:

Goal: Establish a community college day program in the Parry Sound Area Development Community by September 2009.

Home Based Business Strategy:

Goal: Encourage and permit appropriate home based businesses and industries as incubator opportunities for new business ventures

Infrastructure:

Goal: Deliver quality infrastructure to all sectors of the Parry Sound Area Development Community within the community's economical framework.

Investment Profile/Website:

Goal: Create an online center for marketing to prospective businesses AND for all relevant area development information.

Market Study/ GAP Analysis:

Goal: Conduct a comprehensive study which will define the economic and business context in the area, in order to identify industry gaps and areas for development.

'One Stop' Business Shopping:

Goal: Facilitate development through the creation of a seamless development/referral service making the area an investment ready and friendly environment.
